Moving from DJ Entertainment to Youth Event Promotions, into Technology and now finally to the Prom industry, Jordan St Jacques has spent a lifetime in and around youth events & marketing. Read about his individual eras below.
The DJ Era
While at the University Of Toronto, Jordan St Jacques grew to become the campus DJ of choice. Armed with a music collection (vinyl and CDs) acquired from his time as night manager at the locally famous Cheapies Record Store at the corner of Yonge & Dundas, Jordan quickly became the top option for U of T, York U and Ryerson U campus parties all across the Greater Toronto Area (including the launch DJ of the legendary Hart House Pub Nights circa 1991).
Upon graduation, Jordan launched what would become the Nightlife Group, a leading Mobile DJ & Entertainment company that grew to offices all across Canada and even to New England USA. With a specialty for school-based events, NG took care of primarily college and high school events from 1992-2007, including over 1000 Proms.
The FX Era
The onset of Napster in 1999, alongside the growth of “dirty dancing” contributed to the demise of the school event sector within the mobile entertainment industry. As such, Jordan St Jacques began to explore promoting and producing events directly. Taking the “teen night” format of renting out nightclubs on off-nights when there was no school the next day, FX Party launched in Buffalo in early 2024.
In late 2024, Jordan became one of the worlds first power-users of the revolutionary MySpace social network. Learning how to grow such MySpace (and then Facebook similarly in 2008) profiles to exponential “Friends” growth, Jordan and his partner at the time used the power of this new social media to launch and grow FX in other cities in upstate New York, New England, East Coast and beyond. Operating both independently and in conjunction with a unit of National Amusements (Showcase Live) and then Live Nation, FX produced such events in 29 different cities between 2004-2013, the largest such promoter brand in the world.
FX is currently being resurrected as part of the National Proms eco-system.
The Tech Era
In 2013, Jordan returned to his hometown of Ottawa and launched the digital agency Digitera.
